You strike your sword against your Shield of Lionidas, shouting alongside your legionaries outside the gates of Syracuse. Inside, their people are filled with terror, deafened by your army’s trumpets and noise. Arrows rain down and you and your fellow soldiers form a barrier with your shields.
There is nothing that can stop you. The design of your shield allows you to stand in close formation, advancing on their defenders and dispatching them quickly.
DETAILS
Epic Armory’s Shield of Lionidas is a concave shield inspired by the famous Greek warriors who faced the thousand nations of the Persian Empire. This 70 cm shield is handpainted and sculpted to look like bronze with deep dents and scrapes from previous battles. A capital lambda, or V-shape, is carved into the face with its point at the dead centre.
Wear this Shield of Lionidas left- or right-handed with the use of one leather grip and an adjustable leather arm strap on the back, secured through hard EVA foam for a reliable and solid grip made to last. Feel confident that this latex shield will withstand the continued abuse of a LARP with regular latex maintenance.
HISTORY
- Inspired by the classical Spartan chalkaspis, a round shield made of bronze with a big capital lambda, or V-Shape, on the face
- Designed for bashing and shield-wall tactics
- Strong latex coating on hard EVA foam, which does not flex in combat
- Made from durable closed cell foam that does not shred
- Handle is made of EVA foam and soft leather for a firm grip
- High safety, approved by the top organizations
All latex-coated products need a certain degree of maintenance. For this we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is an easy, spray-on application, 100% pure and acid-free making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone on a regular basis. It maintains the latex-coat’s flexibility and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product wear and tear resistant.
Store your latex shield in a cool, dry environment. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to prevent your shield from adhering to other products.
