What is it?

The CaliCON event is a LARP (Live Action Role Play) convention that showcases craftspeople, community leaders and creators that contribute enhancing LARP games and immersive experiences. It features several manufacturers of handmade goods and their wares as well as local organisations and businesses relevant to immersive games and the use of foam weapons. LARPers will have a rare opportunity to discuss different aspects of LARP games and immersive events with movers and shakers. 

In addition, visitors will be able to attend conferences, meet fellow players, participate in activities, win CaliGold, shop exclusive products and deals and be informed of new developments in the various sectors of the immersive entertainment world. Furthermore, the Calimacil boutique located at 1150 rue Deschaillons, Sherbrooke will be open on Friday and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Attendees are encouraged (but not obliged) to come dressed as their favorite character or creature because what would a LARPing convention be without the chance to show off what we love? We hope you haven't packed your gear away for the winter just yet!

Job opportunities

Are you a craftsperson (or just plain handy!) and would like to work a LARP-related job? Several businesses featured at the CaliCON are currently hiring, including Calimacil. Bring your CV, chat with businesses at their kiosks and make a great first impression in a relaxed atmosphere!

How can I participate?

This year is of course special and we had to innovate to be able to still hold the CaliCON within the context of the current pandemic. This is why we are offering a VIP on-site experience to up to 25 visitors at a time every hour. The tickets are 5$ each and in exchange, we give you a 25$ Calimacil gift card at the door!

Can't attend in person? No problem! The event will be broadcasted LIVE all day via YouTube. Tune in for interviews, conferences, giveaways, exclusive offers and much more. It'll be almost as if you were there!

Les Artisans D'azure

Incredible manufacturer of leather goods recognized worldwide and proud Quebec producer, we have been distributing their products for 10 years. They have become one of our closest partners over the years. It was to them that Calimacil turned to collaborate on the Witcher custom armor and the Witcher scabbard collection. Nemesis Workshops

Manufacturers of high-end Latex LARP weapons, they are known for their tailor-made creations and the first reference we name when customers seek to manufacture fully customized products. We collaborated together on the creation of luminous costumes used in the show Amos Daragon - The Phoenix by Bryan Perro. We are happy to welcome these talented craftsmen for you to discover their new Athena range.

B3 Imagination Studio

Located in Massachusetts, B3 Imagination Studio manufactures great outdoors equipment. Close Calimacil collaborators, we turned to them to develop our line of shields and low-speed arrows. As fellow makers of safe foam weapons, we are honored to host their founder at CaliCON. Come discover the genius behind our long-range weapons and durable shields.

Camps Légendaires

A day camp for young enthusiasts, Les Camps Légendaires has become one of Calimacil’s most important partners. Close collaborators and Calimacil product testers for now 10 years, they help people of all ages become legends with our weapons. We manufacture their own line of Calimacil swords for their campers and we know we can count on them to vouch for the reliability and durability of our products. Coliseum Concept

A pioneer in the Quebec LARP market and present for 20 years, owner Christian Déry relies on Calimacil for the development of his many grandiose ideas and to equip campers at Tricorne Camp. We have developed the Arcane Staff together with Coliseum Concept and collaborated many times for short films and to bring new ideas to the market. They will fascinate you with their extraordinary universe and will awe you with their latest creation: a 9-foot Dragon!

Dracolite

Well known as a Montreal-based manufacturer of leather goods, Calimacil has been distributing their products for 4 years. We have collaborated with them to jointly create the Mythic Workshop collection. These outstanding craftsmen are also behind the Atelier Pirate brand and have collaborated with us to produce the Mandragora masks found in the series The Witcher III. Dracolite is also a manufacturer of high-end medieval clothing, jewelry and unique wedding dresses. Come see their deals and view new exclusive products first-hand.

esplumoir de Merlin

Designer and manufacturer of high-end life-size clothing, Vicky Boucher has been present in the LARP world for over 20 years. This craftswoman can be seen at many medieval events, proudly showing off her many one-of-a-kind creations. This year, we are collaborating with her in the making of a LEDsaber combat uniform. It is our immense pleasure to introduce you to this passionate artist!

Fédération du Grandeur Nature du Québec

The mission set by the FDGNQC (EN: Quebec Live Action Role Play Federation) is to develop independent, safe and responsible practices for LARP activities for all in Quebec. Such guidelines are meant to also be used within the framework of leisure activities and sports venues throughout the province as well as relevant commercial activities. The federation also strives to represent its individual members, artisans, companies and organizations for the development of the practice. Jetball Sport

Named for it's rocket-shaped ball, this unique sport created in 2010 in Longueuil (Quebec) combines aspects of soccer, basketball, football and many others. Together with the Quebec Jetball Association, we jointly developed the official junior and senior Jetballs for their activities. Calimacil is proud of this collaboration and is happy to give it a very special place for the CaliCON. Come and meet these organizers who will undoubtedly make you move like no other!

Ordre du Combat récréatif

The OCR (EN: Order of Recreational Combat) is an organization that aims to govern the budding sport of recreational combat. They provide a safe environment to practice this sport through active games combining strategy and healthy competition. 
On top of classes, they also offer entertainment services that include games, introductory lessons and dueling. As users and testers of Calimacil products for many years, the OCR contributes to helping people of all ages take part in entering the legend. We are delighted to partner with them for this event so that you can come try the sport for yourselves!

Diratia Productions

Diratia Productions is a creative company behind the Shadow of the Conqueror short film project. This short film takes its inspiration from the book of the same title by Youtuber Shadiversity, aka Shad M. Brooks. They also collaborate with us for Calimacil video productions and lives. We think they are as passionate about fantasy as we are and hope you'll think so too once you meet them.

Seyrawyn

Longtime partners, the first Calimacil and Seyrawyn collaboration was in 2012 with the Lonnar hammer which is still sold to this day. Martial Grisé and Maryse Pépin are the authors of the fantasy series Seyrawyn who bring dragons to children's imaginations and even have dragon eggs for all the passionate dragon guardians in the world. Calimacil have brought many weapons from the book series to life and are a proud reseller of their products. Meet them at CaliCON to learn more about the universe of Arisan and the Dragon Guardians.

Sher-lames

This fencing club occupies the Calimacil weapons room and offers lessons for a clientele of all ages. We know that we can count on them for teaching this art! Patrick has been fencing for over thirty years, hence the importance of Feel the Legend. Its goal being to share and make people discover its passion, this organization has set itself to achieve this goal. Vincent Brazeau, a longtime fencing coach, will be on site to introduce you to this unique art.

Zardwin

Zardwin is a versatile manufacturer of leather goods established in Quebec whose products we have been distributing for 10 years. Calimacil met this long-time partner at the Salon de la Passion Médiévale where we were able to exchange ideas. He is a fervent user and distributor of our products ever since the first generation of Calimacil weapons. We are proud to have him with us for the CaliCON and continue to discuss our common passion.
