XIII Century Steel Helmet with Leather Liner
Stalwart and reliable, this XIII Century kettle hat shields your head from blows and sun alike—perfect for infantry roles in any LARP or reenactment.
Our XIII Century kettle hat helmet is a faithful reproduction of one of the most iconic helmets used by medieval infantry. Handmade from tough 16-gauge mild steel and lined with a soft, genuine leather liner, this helmet provides both comfort and combat-ready protection.
Its broad brim shields you from overhead blows and sun glare, while its secure chin strap and brass buckle keep it in place during skirmishes. With an internal circumference of 65 cm (with liner), it suits most adult head sizes. This piece is ideal for LARP, reenactment, or historical display, especially when paired with a chainmail coif for a complete medieval footman’s look.
Please note: Each helmet is lightly coated in protective oil to prevent corrosion during shipping. This can be wiped clean with a dry cloth or standard oil remover before first use.
The sun beat down upon the weary lines of footmen. With each step, the metallic rustle of mail and the creak of leather filled the air, punctuated by the distant thud of trebuchets. You adjusted your helm, the wide brim catching the heat before it reached your brow. Around you, men bore the same—kettle hats gleaming like iron halos in the midday sun. You were no knight, but the first to hold the line… and the last to fall. The chapel de fer was your crown—and your salvation.
Ideal for the stalwart infantryman, the seasoned crossbowman, or the disciplined town guard. Whether you are a loyal billman standing beneath your lord’s banner or a wandering mercenary seeking coin and cause, this helmet speaks of utility, endurance, and battlefield grit.
