Our reproduction is HANDMADE from 16-gauge mild steel, lined with a comfortable and secure leather liner. A circumference of approximately 68 cm (without liner) makes it fit almost all head sizes (65 cm with liner). A sturdy chin strap with a brass buckle closure keeps the helmet secure during battle. The total height is about 18 cm and the base is about (33×32) cm. Weighs about 2 Kg and 360 grams. Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
Being a part of the infantry, you need protection from projectiles and the scorching heat! After all, walking for miles has never been easy on anyone. And just for that, our kettle hat helmet has been an exemplary companion.
The kettle hat, also called “Chapel de Fer” in French, is the ideal helmet for footmen, crossbowmen, spearmen billmen, and vougiers. It was hugely popular among medieval armies because of its versatility and a perfect balance between protection and mobility. Just pair it with one of our chainmail coifs, and you will get an optimum combination for your next LARP or reenactment, offering a great look without hampering your vision and freedom of movement.
