Your Large Shield sends a goblin clear off his feet, landing in a pile of his buddies. They miscalculated your massive strength, and are reeling backwards on the retreat. So much for supposed alliances. They have learned too late that betraying an Orc of the Black Water would mean death. It’s too bad they won’t be able to share the word with their kin.
You adjust your great shield, letting out a battle cry of rage as another goblin aims for your ankles. Shield Bash. This one goes flying another fifteen paces.
This Ready-For-Battle Large Shield is a semi-curved, kite-shield inspired by 10th to 12th century Normans. With a wooden texture and finished to look like wood grain and an iron rim, this shield will fit perfectly in the hands of a soldier on the battlefield. While the design is simple, this Large Shield is timeless and classic, and can fit almost any LARP game you can find.
Wear this Large Shield left or right-handed with the use of three versatile leather arm straps on the back, allowing for different fight styles and stances. Feel confident that this hard EVA foam and latex shield will withstand the continued abuse of a LARP with regular latex maintenance.
- Also referred to as a “kite” shield, originally from the 10th-12th centuries
- Would sometimes be as long as 114 cm, meant to protect a soldier’s knees to the shoulders.
- Longer versions were typically used with javelins and spears, rather than swords
- Strong latex coating with a round fibreglass core
- Strong Kevlar core tip protection
- Made from durable closed cell foam that does not shred
- High safety, approved by the top organizations
All latex-coated products need a certain degree of maintenance. For this we recommend using maintenance silicone which can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. Epic Armoury Maintenance Silicone is an easy, spray-on application, 100% pure and acid-free making it safe to apply. We recommend using Maintenance Silicone on a regular basis. It maintains the latex-coat’s flexibility and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product wear and tear resistant.
Store your latex shield in a cool, dry environment. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to prevent your shield from adhering to other products.
