In these times of peace, guards' swords were almost decorations, only used to deter petty crimes and a few highwaymen. However, the city guards still held on tight to the precious memento of one of their most respected man, who died years ago: Edgar. Even without wars, no rust appeared on their swords, as they kept it in prime condition at all times. But all this soon changed. On the other side of the sea, the armies were preparing. Always hungry for more territory and carnage, Orcs, Goblins, Trolls and some yet nameless creatures sharpened their swords in anticipation of the battles to come. For them, there was no peace, only preparation for the next war. As soon as they landed on shore, ready to take on fishing villages and small cities, they found themselves surrounded by a large force of guards, their trusty swords ready to act. The monsters thought they could surprise mankind, but even in the most peaceful times, the kingdom's vigilance was unbroken. This was the oath they all swore when they became guards, to protect the realm at all costs, and at all times.
This sword is fantastic. When I first ordered this sword I expected it to be a lot worse, being that it was a refurbished sword, but to my surprise the blade only had minor marks that were barely noticeable and the handle only had a small seem line. The grip is sturdy yet comfortable and the blade was hard enough to feel but not to the point where it was painful. Overall the sword looks really impressive and its basic enough where literally any character could be seen using it. Honestly this is a great beginner sword and I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend a crazy amount but still wants something impressive looking.
I bought a refurbished Magnus and Edgar about a month or so ago and I love them both. Between the two of them I would have to say I like The Edgar more. I love the nice weighty feel. I'm 6ft 6in and got huge hands and the width/thickness of the grip/handle just feels nice. I really only have 2 complaints that keep me from giving this a perfect 5/5 stars
1- Cross Guard. The cross guard is super bendy. I like the Magnus because the cross guard is a little thicker and can actually pseudo function as one. The cross guard on this is more for show. It will kinda keep things from hitting your hand but you can't use it to catch anyones sword.
2- Grip Length. Probably because I have huge hands, I am left wishing the sword grip was just an inch or 2 longer.
But other than that this is one awesome sword! I love the simplicity of the design, it's durable, fun to use and I definitely would recommend it! 4.5/5 stars.
Overall a good sword. But it's the second Edgar I own and it feels quite bendy. Perhaps even too much. I prefer my weapons stiffer. Consider buying a shorter version.
