About Refurbished Items : A weapon is declared refurbished when, following a standard inspection by Calimacil, it does not reach the expected esthetical level. A refurbished weapon will have the same security level as a standard Calimacil weapon but may have some lower quality result on painting, forms or other. This type of weapon is covered by a one year warranty on manufacturing defects that can result in the weapon breaking or being unsafe. It will however not cover the visual aspect of the product like the warranty on our regular items.

On a weapon rack next to the sarcophagus was that symbol he wanted so much : A sword whose guard was covered in gold with green scarabs ornaments. Excited, Naeem took the sword and felt a flow of energy running through his veins … an almost divine energy. Was the sword really magical and capable of giving its possessor the power of eternal life? Only time would tell …
I ordered this sword as a cosplay prop for an upcoming con, in case the other prop I was building wasn't ready in time. It's a refurbished model, so there are a few small cosmetic flaws, but you have to work to find them, they're only obvious under close scrutiny. This feels solid and sturdy, unlike cheaper LARP swords I've handled, and it's every bit as big as my steel longsword.
The only thing that would make this sword better would be if it had an alternate color scheme option- perhaps bright metal. Its current look is darker, more antiqued.
Having used the weapon extensively for my local larp, I can mention a few things -
1: The blade is a bit nippy if you're doing anything beyond lightest touch LARPing, and even then may feel like it has more bite compared to weapons with a broader edge or boffers of a similar weight and length. Keep that in mind when buying.
2: The crossguard and pommel are very noticeably gold, and the scarab detailing was done in the same paint that the pommel was. The scarabs had some aesthetic defects in the 'leg' molding but I purchased a refurb, I expected that much. Water down some modeling acrylic and wash in a bit of jade on the shell to get the desired effect, then apply a spray-on sealant to make sure the color doesn't leave.
That being said, overall I feel quite satisfied with the product after a few aesthetic modifications. The grip is wonderfully detailed and should fit very well into the hands of the average person (I've built mine up a bit with a bit of strapping, but I have exceptionally large hands) and the weapon performs suitably well. The crossguard is a bit floppy which is a bit sad, but despite that I've found it more than adequately deflects incoming handshots in my fairly casual usage of the blade. So, with the understandable point taken off for cosmetic defects and minor discrepancy between depicted color and received color on the crossguard, I rate the weapon a solid 4/5 and would gladly use it as my primary sword in my current larp.
TLDR; 5/5 for looks, 4/5 for design.
I'm giving this this LARP weapon 4/5 stars.
It has nothing to do with the refurbished state, in reality I can't find exactly what makes this a refurbished weapon. The foam and latex look immaculate to me, and I see nowhere on the sword that would cause safety concerns in a LARP setting.
However,
I'm not impressed with the hollow/ floppy cross guard. THAT, is why I can't give this a 5/5 rating. Cros guards are meant for protecting the wielder's hand(s) from strikes that hit the blade and flow down. Without a core to the cross guard, it makes it useless. PLUS, with repeated stress on that area from combat, it will eventually tear and rip off. I hope this gets put into consideration in the future.
